An awareness programme on ‘POCSO’ prevention of children against sexual offences act was organised in St Aloysius High School on 18th 18, 2024. Dr. Vidya Vinutha Dsouza, an Assistant professor in the PG Department of Social work, St Aloysius College Deemed to be University, Mangalore and the Chair of St. Aloysius Prakashana, the publication centre of St Aloysius Institutions, was the resource person.
She spoke on the importance of ‘POCSO’ act, explained the types of offences, the rights of the child, the role of students and parents in reporting POCSO, prevention tips, and the procedure to approach the offices. It was a very interactive session. On the whole, all the students and parents gained knowledge based on the importance of POCSO.
Mrs. Felcy Pinto compered the programme. Mrs Sunitha Pais welcomed the gathering . Mr. Lancy D’souza, Asst. Headmaster introduced Dr. Vidya Vinutha Dsouza and newly appointed Headmaster, Rev. Fr. Johnson R. Pinto, S.J., to the students. The entire program ended with the National Anthem.
