Sports Day – 2016

The Annual sports day was conducted on 26th November 2016. The Guests were escorted to the dais by the school pupil leaders and NCC Cadets along with the school band. The sports flag was handed over to the Athletes by the Chief Guest                             Mr. Pradeep D’Souza, Director of youth empowerment and sports development, D.K. Mangalore. Students from all the four houses presented a very beautiful marchpast. The day began by invoking God’s presence through a prayer song. Rev. Fr. Xavier Christopher SJ the Assistant Headmaster of our school introduced the guest and cordially welcomed the gathering.

The Chief Guest inaugurated the programme by hoisting the sports flag. The athletes were led by Nachiketh the participant of international karate tournament and handed over the sports torch to the chief guest who then handed it back to the athletes.

Addressing the gathering the chief guest appreciated the school for all the infrastructural facilities. He motivated the students to take part in the events during sports day without the fear of loosing. He recalled his childhood memories he carried of the past 15 years he spent on this beautiful school campus. The sports meet was declared open by the chief guest by releasing tricolour balloons in the air. Oath was taken by Master Jostal Pinto, State Level Basketball and Handball player, the sport minister of our school on behalf of all the students. The vote of thanks was delivered by Master Roopith the school president.

Closing function of Annual sports meet

Mr. Akash B. Rao, Advocate was the chief guest of the closing programme which began at 3pm. Our students presented a systematic mass drill and marchpast followed by a wonderful silent drill by NCC troops.

Mr. Gopalkrishna S. the Headmaster of our school introduced the guest and welcomed the gathering. The chief guest quoting sweat once for health” told the students “in our life we have many sports that gives us experience to face the hurdles in our life and keeps us healthy”. Congratulating all the participants and winners he said “never to be egoistic, instead work hard and be successful”. Rev. Fr Pradeep Sequeira, the in-charge rector appreciated the discipline of the students throughout the programme. Congratulated all the winners and the participants.

Game was organized for teachers and parents. After honouring all the Athletes with prizes, the chief guest finally announced the closure of the Annual Sports meet 2016-17 by lowering the sports flag.

Thus our sports day attained great success with the collective efforts of all the teachers specially our PT Teachers Mr. Praveen Lobo and Mr. Noel Menezes.
