Feast of St Aloysius Gonzaga

The feast of St. Aloysius Gonzaga, the patron saint of St. Aloysius Institution, was celebrated on 21st June 2025 in the high school hall. Novena prayers were conducted in the chapel for Catholic students prior to the feast. Rev. Fr Vishwash Misquith SJ and Rev. Fr Johnson Pinto SJ had an Eucharistic celebration dated 20th June 2025.

A grand cultural programme was organised for all the students who gathered in the hall. The masters of the ceremony for the day were Miss Siona Dsouza of class 9D and Master Riyon Pinto of class 9E, who confidently and gracefully led the event, ensuring a smooth flow of the programme by the guidance of Mrs. Jovita Dsouza. God’s presence was invoked through a prayer song led by the school choir.

The chief guest, Miss Nishal D’Almeida, Headmaster Rev. Fr. Johnson Pinto SJ, Asst. Headmaster Mr. Lancy D’Souza, SPL, ASPL & Secretary were respectfully invited onto the stage, marking the formal commencement of the celebration. Following this, Vianna of class 9D extended a warm & heartfelt welcome to the gathering, formally addressing the audience and highlighting the significance of the feast & the day’s celebration.

A very beautiful welcome dance was performed by our students to welcome the gathering. Rev. Fr. Johnson Pinto SJ presented a formal welcome to the chief guest, Miss Nishal D’Almeida, as a gesture of honour & appreciation. The distribution of certificates to the NCC Air Cadets followed acknowledging their achievements and discipline. The presentation was led by Mrs Sunitha pais, Mrs Lavina monteiro.

In a special moment of appreciation, Mrs Daina Goveas conducted a felicitation ceremony for the chief guest, followed by the presentation of memento by Rev Fr. Johnson Pinto SJ. Addressing the gathering chief guest highlighted the life of St Aloysius Gonzaga and advised the students to try to live the life based on the value taught by St Aloysius Gonzaga and to take him as a model of inspiration.

An impactful drama titled Aike (selection) was presented by the students under the direction of Mrs Bharathi N.K and Mrs. Praveen Dsouza. The play emphasized the importance of unity, decision – making and living by one’s values ideals cherished by the patron saint. Headmaster in his message advised the students to cultivate and embody the noble qualities of our patron saint, including discipline, dedication, humanity and a strong moral conscience – not just within the school campus but also in their homes,among peers and in their academic life, connection to the thought – provoking skit titled Aike sumbolize the power of making the right choices.

The stage setting was beautifully enhanced by a backdrop designed by Mr. John Chandran. Master Samhith Raj of (SPL) class 10E proposed vote of thanks. Program was winded up with National Anthem.
