SPORTS DAY

The Annual Athletic meet of St Aloysius high school was conducted on 10th November 2023. The guests Mr Vrijesh N. G., alumnus, Karnataka State Cricket player, Rector Rev. Fr Melwyn Pinto S.J., Headmaster Rev. Fr Gerald Furtado S.J., Assistant Headmaster Mr Lancy D’souza, PTA Vice – President Mr Santhosh Kumar, were escorted by the school pupil leaders and NCC cadets along with the school band. The sports flag was handed over to the athletes by the chief guest followed by wonderful march-past headed by various house leaders and their members with flags.

          The Chief Guest inaugurated the meet by hoisting the sports flag. God’s presence was invoked through a prayer song led by school choir. The athletes led by master Yashraj, Diganth V.S., Nethan, Grahith handed over the sports torch to the chief guest who then handed it back to the athletes followed by the lighting of torch.

          The Chief Guest addressed the gathering by recalling his memories in this prestigious institution. dedication, punctuality,team spirit, discipline; resilience integrity, patience, goal are very important in true sportsman. Sports activities not only give exercise to the body but also relaxes the mind stability, he added. Rector in his message congratulated all the students for the wonderful march-past. Advising the students he said, sports is not winning and losing it is winning of all the participants. He wished all the students a wonderful sports day. The sports meet was declared open by the guest by releasing tricolor balloons in the air. Oath was taken by Master Lestol Jude Pinto, the sports secretary of our school on behalf of all the students. Headmaster delivered the welcome address. Master Vivaan K. Attavar, the SPL of the school proposed the Vote of thanks.

Closing Ceremony

          Mr Rudolf Lobo, Alumnus, was the chief guest of the closing programme which began at 3.15p.m.           Students presented a systematic mass drill followed by a wonderful silent drill by NCC cadets.           Addressing the gathering the chief guest said Winning and losing is part of life. Win and go ahead and achieve height. It is important to win but it is more important to participate, he added

          After honoring all the athletes and prize winners, the chief guest finally announced the closure of the annual sports meet 2023-24 by lowering the sports flag. Mr Lancy D’souza welcomed the gathering. The entire programme was hoasted by Mrs Felcy Pinto and Mrs Bharati N.K. Miss Sinchana, Assistant SPL delivered Vote of Thanks. Thus the sports day attained great success with the great  effort of our PET teacher Mr Noel Menezes.
