Mental health is a subject that has gained widespread attention in recent year as more and more people especially the young youth are being affected by various mental health disorders. Additionally, the rise of mobile and drug addiction is posing significant challenge to society.
In order to shed light on these serious matters and to bring awareness among the students, a session was held on 26th October 2023 in the High school hall. God’s presence was invoked through a prayer song led by school choir. Dr Ajay Mallya, Senior Resident, Kasturba Medical College, Mangalore was the resource person.
The programme was also presided over by Mrs Ruth Angeline, senior medical social worker, Mrs Sharavati, a skilled medical social worker, Rev. Fr Gerald Furtado S.J. Headmaster and Mr Lancy D’Souza, The Assistant Headmaster
The resource person Dr Mallya shared his insights and strategies for managing mental health concerns as well as combating addiction to mobile phones and drugs. His valuable inputs regarding various problems and characteristics of mentally unhealthy person and the measures to tackle such problems an undoubtedly benefitted our students. The session ended with vote of thanks. It was carried out by Asst Headmaster Mr Lancy DSouza. Mrs Jovita Dsouza welcomed the gathering.
