Annual Day 2015

St. Aloysius high school celebrated its 136th annual day on 22nd December 2015. The program started at 4.30 pm with the school band leading the chief guest to the dais. Mr. Yenapoya Abdulla Kunhi, the vice chancellor of Yenapoya University and former alumnus of this institution, was the chief guest for the program. In his message he said that we must understand the importance of education, which helps us to live in unity in any circumstances and build a strong nation. He also said that education must create social consciousness among the people.

The rector of St. Aloysius institutions Rev. Fr. Denzil Lobo SJ, in his presidential address, gave the examples of various persons of who excelled at the national and international level in spite of their physical ailments. He appealed the students to work hard and achieve greater heights.

The headmaster, Rev. Fr. Edward Rodrigues SJ,  the asst. headmaster Mr. G. K. Bhat and the members of the student’s council were present on the dais. A novena book on the prayers of St. Aloysius was released by the Fr. Rector. Thanks to Ms. Felcy Pinto, the asst. teacher, who was responsible in bringing out such a useful book for our prayers. The outstanding students of our high school were honored by the chief guest along with their parents. The prizes were distributed to a number of students, who did remarkably well in various activities. The headmaster read the school annual report highlighting the important achievements and milestones of the school during academic year.

The students put up an excellent show with their talents in dancing and drama during the cultural program. Our school beat club proved everyone that they can also rise up to higher level when it comes to music and singing. The students also sang a few carols and gave a Christmas message to the audience along with a santa clause. The program came to an end with the singing of the National Anthem.
