The sports day of St. Aloysius High School was held on 28th November , 2014. It was a day for which all students were waiting very eagerly. The ground was filled with Colourful students! The guests were escorted to the dais by the school pupil leaders and the N.C.C. along with the School Band. Students from all houses presented a beautiful , disciplined march past on this occasion. The Annual Sports meet began with the grace of the Almighty. The Asst. Headmaster Sri Gopalkrishna S. welcomed the gathering. The chief Guest of the Inaugural function Sri Ganesh Rao S., Founder Chairman of Karavali Group of Colleges, inaugurated the programme by hoisting the sports flag. The athletes lead by Amruth M. N. of standard 10th D brought the Sports torch to the ground and handed it over to the Chief Guest who then handed it back to the athletes.
Addressing the gathering, the Chief Guest said to the students that they should feel proud to be in this institution. He appreciated the disciplined, systematic march past by our students. He said, participation in an event counts but winning or losing depends. Out of the many, only a few may win while the others will lose but they should not be discouraged by their defeat. We should try, try and try until we succeed. He said that students should enjoy each and every second of their life so that they can cherish these moments later on.
Rev Fr. Michael John SJ, the sports co-ordinator of Aloysius Campus, motivated the students to participate in the sports day. The sports meet was declared open by the chief guest by releasing the balloons in the air. Physical teacher Mr. Noel Menezes administered the oath to the participants. The Vote of Thanks was delivered by the SPL Akash A. The Vice President of the PTA Mr Vinod D’Souza , Headmaster of the school Rev Fr. Edward Rodrigues,S.J. were also present.
CLOSING FUNCTION OF THE ANNUAL SPORTS MEET
Sri Lokesh C. Block Education Officer, Mangaluru North, was the Chief Guest of the closing function which began at 3:30 p.m. Rev Fr. Michael John SJ , The Headmaster were also present. Our students performed a beautiful , systematic Mass drill. The NCC put up a majestic Silent drill which was appreciated by all. The Chief guest addressed the gathering and advised the students in brief about the demerits of mobiles and internet and gave the students some tips to perform better in their exams. The ASPL of our school Master Shane, delivered the vote of thanks . The chief Guest finally announced the closure of the annual sports meet 2014 -15. After the formal function there was BAILA dance and all the students danced filled with the dance spirit, to their heart’s content and with that the annual sports meet of St. Aloysius came to an end.
