All the primary and high school teaching faculty had orientation program for two days in AIMIT campus. All the teachers were wonderstruck by looking at the beautiful and magnificent building of the AIMIT.
On the first day we had an ice-breaking session by Rev. Fr. Denzil Lobo SJ, the rector of St. Aloysius College institutions. He conducted an activity through images. It helped us to know what kind of teachers we should become and we should not. In the second session Rev. Fr. Pradeep Sequeira SJ the co-ordinator of the ‘Gonzaga Nivas’ Jesuit house, divided the group into many smaller groups, which helped us to know other teachers very well. In the afternoon we had some lively sessions by Dr. Venkatesh Amin the professor of the MBA department. He conducted two games namely the protecting of our own balloons and about the team spirit. These games made everyone to be on their toes to bring victory to their respective groups. All of us learned a lot from these games.
On the second day, we had session by Fr. Denzil Lobo SJ on creativity in teaching. Fr. Pradeep Sequeira SJ gave a talk on the importance of understanding students in the classroom for effective learning. In the afternoon we were taken to the computer and internet world by Mr. Santhosh Rebello the dean of AIMIT computer department and by Mr. Manibhushan D’Souza. It was a beautiful presentation by both of them, which enabled us to know the different abilities in each human being.
