Feast of St. Aloysius Gonzaga, Scholarship Distribution, Felicitation Ceremony and 2026–27
St. Aloysius High School, Kodialbail, celebrated the Feast of St. Aloysius Gonzaga, the Patron of the Institution, on 20th June 2026 with great devotion and enthusiasm. The celebration brought together students, staff, alumni, and distinguished guests in a spirit of faith, leadership, gratitude, and service.
The programme commenced with a prayer service led by the Melody Club under the guidance of Mrs. Reny Vas. The dignitaries were escorted to the dais and welcomed with roses. A warm welcome address was delivered by Miss Nathasha D’Souza. The occasion was graced by Mr. Shambu Shetty, former Assistant Headmaster of St. Aloysius High School, as the Chief Guest. Rev. Fr. Johnson Pinto SJ, Headmaster, Mr. Lancy D’Souza, Assistant Headmaster, and representatives of the Class 10 (1983 Batch)—Mr. Anil Pinto, Mrs. Celine Rego, and Mr. Lidwin D’Souza—were also present.
The St. Aloysius Gonzaga Drawing Competition was conducted by Mr. John Chandran. The prizes were announced and distributed by Mrs. Sunitha pais and Mrs. Diana Lobo, recognizing the creativity and artistic talents of the students. The school also expresses its appreciation to Mr. John Chandran for designing the stage backdrop and banner for the celebration.
The Scholarship Distribution Ceremony followed, during which scholarships sponsored by the Class 10 (1983 Batch) were awarded to deserving students in recognition of their academic excellence and perseverance. The names of the recipients were announced by Mrs. Edna Mascarenhas.
A special Felicitation Ceremony was held to honour the retired teachers of the institution. Mr. Anil Pinto, representing the Class 10 (1983 Batch), expressed heartfelt gratitude and appreciation for the invaluable contribution of the teachers in shaping the lives of generations of students. Members of the 1983 Batch present on the occasion included Dr Rohan Mascarenhas, Mr Mahesh, Mr Sudeep Prabhakar, and Mr Anil Pinto. The felicitation programme was coordinated by Mrs Linet Mathias.
Addressing the gathering, Chief Guest Mr. Shambu Shetty inspired the students with his valuable message on leadership, discipline, and service. As a token of appreciation, Rev. Fr. Johnson Pinto SJ presented a memento to the Chief Guest. Rev. Fr. Johnson Pinto SJ then delivered the Headmaster’s Message, encouraging students to emulate the virtues of St. Aloysius Gonzaga and strive for excellence in all their endeavours.
The cultural segment of the programme featured a vibrant group dance by the students under the guidance of Mrs. Shalma Saldanha and Mrs. Chris Ever D’Souza. A meaningful skit portraying the life and values of St. Aloysius Gonzaga was presented under the guidance of Mrs. Bharathi N. K., Mrs. Ashika, and Mr. Praveen Monteiro.
The vote of thanks was proposed by the School Pupil Leader, Master Rion Darren Pinto, under the guidance of Mrs. Reshma Mohan. The programme was compered by Miss Lenora D’Souza of Class 10E and Master Prinston Rodrigues of Class 10E2 under the guidance of Mrs. Sonal Lobo.
The celebration concluded on a joyful note, serving as a fitting tribute to St. Aloysius Gonzaga and reinforcing the values of faith, leadership, gratitude, and service among the students.
