St. Aloysius High School celebrated Kannada Rajyotsava and Deepavali with great enthusiasm and cultural spirit. The programme began with a prayer, invoking God’s blessings for a meaningful celebration. The Headmaster Rev. Fr. Johnson Pinto SJ, Assistant Headmaster Mr. Lancy Dsouza, and PTA Vice President Mrs. Reshma Bhat were formally escorted to the dais by the school pupil leaders.
The dignitaries inaugurated the event with the lighting of the lamp, symbolizing knowledge and enlightenment. As part of the Kannada Rajyotsava celebration, students presented melodious Kannada songs, expressing pride and love for the state and its culture. Students who excelled in the Lantern Making Competition held for Deepavali were awarded prizes, encouraging creativity and participation.
Addressing the gathering, the Headmaster Rev. Fr. Johnson Pinto SJ highlighted that the Kannada language unites people and fosters unity in diversity. He encouraged everyone to love Karnataka and its rich culture. Speaking about Deepavali, he advised the students to walk on the path of light, as light brings joy, wisdom, and harmony to all. Kumari Sneha delivered a meaningful speech on the significance of the day, adding depth to the celebration. The PTA members enhanced the festive mood with their melodious singing, making the Deepavali celebration even more vibrant.
The programme was compered by Arjun. Nawami extended a warm welcome to the gathering, and Vridhi proposed the vote of thanks. The event was well-coordinated by Mrs. Diana Goveas, Mrs. Bharati N. K., and Mrs. Reshma. The celebration concluded on a joyful note, reflecting the essence of Kannada culture and the festival of lights.
