Annual Report 2025

Distinguished Chief guest  Mr Mohan Raj, Managing Director of Bright Globe Private Limited, and Alumnus of our Institution ,  Rev. Fr Melwin Pinto S.J,  Rector, St. Aloysius Institutions, who is presiding over today’s function, Mr Lancy DSouza – Asst Headmaster, Mrs Reshma Bhat – Vice President of the PTA, well-wishers of this Institution, PTA Executive Committee, our proud parents, respected members of the teaching and non-teaching fraternity , ladies and gentlemen, media persons and my dear students, it is my proud privilege to present the 145th  Annual Report of this historic Educational Institution. 

          616 students elected Master Samhith Raj as the SPL, Kum. Chinmayi C.S.  as the ASPL and Master Arman Shaik Ummar as the Secretary to the students’council for the year 2025–2026.

RESULTS:

Our students achieved 96.19% overall results in the April 2025 S.S.L.C. examination.  Mohammed Faheez Sheehan of English Medium topped with 619 marks, 99.04% and Sangamesha of Kannada Medium topped with 576 marks, 92.16%.   At the Diocesan Catechism Examination, Master Arol Sequeira excelled in English Medium and in the Value Education Examination Mohammed Faheez Sheeyan topped in English Medium and Shwetha Dariyappa in Kannada Medium. We appreciate the sincere efforts of the students, the hard work of our teachers and the constant support of the parents and the management.

STAFF IN SERVICE PROGRAM AND ACHIEVEMENTS:

  • Mr Lancy DSouza, headed the Resource Person’s team for the State level 10th std Ist Language English L.B.A.  Mrs Bharathi N.K. and Mrs Jovita DSouza were the other Resource Persons from our school.  Mrs Sonal Goveas was one of the Resource Person for 9th Std. Ist Language English L.B.A. 
  • Mrs Felcy Lobo, the collection of Konkani poems ‘Palva Ponth’ was conferred the Book Award by Karnataka Konkani Sahithya Academy.
  • Mr Sunil Rohan Lobo attended Prestigious Prime Minister Rally which was held in the month of January 2025 as a part of Republic Day parade. 
  • Mr Praveen D. Monteiro was the Resource person at Ocean Global School Mangalore for the 10th std second language Kannada teachers from D.K. and Udupi District on 6th and 7th November organised by Muslim Educational Institutions Federation (MEIF) Mangalore.

          Our students not only excel academically, but also in the field of Sports & Games.  We at St Aloysius believe in the all-round development of personality.  Along with fitness of the mind, fitness of the body is also given due importance.   Mr Noel Menezes and Ms Jashmitha D. Naithik N. and Rebecca Maria DCunha were selected for the National level.  They are the special achievers.

Ananya Prashanth Kumar and  Bhavisha are the Taluk level winners and District participants.

8. Athletics:

Under 14 :

Ronit Sherwinbagged gold medal in 200mts and 100mts in Taluk Level and bronze in District level.

Kaushal Banjan got bronze medal in 400mts in Cluster level. In State Level “Mini Olympics” he bagged silver in 200mts and bronze in 400mts Relay.

Kaushal Banjan and Ronit Sherwin are state level Gold medalist in 4×100 relay held by “Kids Athletic Meet” which was held at Bangalore.

Sanvi V. Taluk level bronze medalist in 100mts. At cluster level she bagged Gold in Long Jump, Silver in 100mts and bronze in Hurdles. 

Shreya Y.M.  Taluk level 200 mts gold and 800 mts bronze and District level participant.

CLUBS :

Mrs Linet Mathias is the co-ordinator of all clubs.  She is responsible for overseeing all club events, ensuring they run smoothly.

N.C.C. Air Wing

63 cadets completed the Annual Training Camp (ATC) at St Joseph’s Engineering College, Vamanjoor.  Our school secured Gold medal in contingent drill  and  Silver Medals in Singing Competition, Cadet Sgt Reyon Pereira got silver medal in the Best Cadet Competition.  Cadet Sgt Reyon Pereira and Cadet Sgt Olga Maria Pinto attended the Pre IGC -1 and Pre IGC-2 camp for the Best Cadet Category.

Yoga day and Independence Day celebrations were organised in association with 6 KAR AIR SQN.  We celebrated Air Force Day with Walkathon along with the Senior Division and Senior Wing Cadets.  We celebrated 150 years of the of the National song ‘Vande Mataram’ through a Poster Making Competition and Volleyball Match.  March Past and Silent drill were performed during the Sports Day.  .

NCC Airwing Troop is guided by Associate NCC Officer Mr Sunil Rohan Lobo and Ms Jashmitha D. R.

N.C.C. Navy

Under the guidance of Caretaker Officer Br Praveen DSouza, 38 cadets successfully attended the Annual Training Camp organised by the 5 KAR Naval Unit, Mangalore at the Scouts and Guides Auditorium, Vamanjoor.   World Environment Day, International Yoga Day, Tiranga Yatra and Guest Talk on Health Awareness along with NCC Air Wing was conducted.  PO Cadet Ephriam Abhishek and PO Cadet Khushi S. Alape participated in RDC–I Camp at Shivamogga.

‘LOYOLA’ Scouts

The troop is guided by the Scout Master Mr. Praveen Donald Monteiro. The scouts actively took part in March Past for Annual Sports Meet. Master Vivek Renol DSouza successfully completed his Tritiya Sopan Examination.

‘JESUITS’ Science Academy

The experiments, discussions, demonstrations using the models are done and quiz is conducted. Science model competition was conducted to the students on account of feast of St Ignatius of Loyola.   Sharon Sequeira was selected for the INSPIRE award and received the amount of ₹10,000 from the Education Department.  

Shawn Fernandes, Shourya P., Trinay S. Kumar and Gautham M. have won 3rd prize in the science still model competition organised by Boscoss P.U.College. Shawn Fernandes and Shourya P. bagged 3rd place in science still model competition organized at “footprints”. Lenver Saldanha and Cliston Serrao won the first prize in the science working model making competition organised by Shri Bharathi Educational Institution.  Shawn Fernandes  won the 2nd  prize in the district level Kalashree science model competition and participated in the state level at  Bangalore. Cliston Serrao won the 3rd  prize in state level Kalashree science model competition that was organised by Bala Bhavana Society, Bangalore.  He is the special achiever.

 ‘T. P. KAILASAM’ Dramatic Association

Under the guidance of Mrs Bharathi N.K., students are encouraged to write and direct plays and skits that could be staged on different occasions.  Basavaraj bagged 1st place in Mimicry at ‘Sparkle’.   

‘SEDIYAPU KRISHNA BHAT’  Kannada Sahitya Sangha

Under  the guidance of Mrs.  Diana  Goveas, club conducted various school level competitions like handwriting, extempore and quiz in which students actively participated. The members of the club sang group songs and compered the Kannada Rajyotsava and other school programs. Dhanraj won 2nd place in Kannada Ashubashana at Taluk level “Prathibha Karanji” and 3rd place at Padua P.U. College.   

 ‘BERCHMANS’ CLC& Altar Boys Club

The members of the club serve as Altar Boys at the Holy Eucharist celebrations during the weekdays, novena days and the feast days.   The Club organised a Group Singing competition on account of the Nativity of Mother Mary, in which students participated enthusiastically.  Discussions and Bible Quiz were also conducted.  The students are motivated by Mrs Lavina Monteiro.

‘MID TOWN’ Interact Club

Interact installation ceremony was held in the month of July under the guidance of Rotary Midtown Mangalore. Club members are guided by Mr Praveen Cutinha.  The club members visited an orphanage that provides care and support to the children affected by AIDS.  During the visit, we celebrated the birthday of Interact Club President Yash Sunil Kumar, conducted short cultural program and donated some essential household items.  The Rotary Mid-town members were also present on the occasion.  The members also participated in Environment Awareness program ಪರಿಸರದೊಂದಿಗೆ ನಮ್ಮ ನಡೆ  which was arranged by Rotary members of Mulki .  The club had organised a “Cyber Crime” awareness program for all the students. Mr Maruthi P, Police Inspector Mangalore South, conducted this program. 

 ‘NEHRU’ Philatelic Club

A Collage competition was organized exclusively for club members and a drawing competition was conducted for all the students. A visit to the St Aloysius Museum was arranged to observe rare and historical stamps. Students appeared for the ‘Deen Dayal Sparsh Yojana’ a Philately Scholarship exam and are waiting for their results.  Mrs Sonal Lobo promotes and motivates the students about philately knowledge.

ANTONIO’S’ Art Club

Art Club members actively participated in Moscheni Art Fest 2025.  They exhibited their paintings in Moscheni Art Fest Painting exhibition and won many prizes.  Members also Participated in Kudla Kala Parbha -2025, a State Level Art Fest held at Kadri Park. They were also involved in the Painting Exhibition ‘Varnayana’ D.K. Art Teachers convention held at St Aloysius High school on November 9th 2025.

Achievements:

Vikram Shenoy:  Selected for the State Level Drawing Competition organised by Central Power Research Institute, New Delhi.  Baged 2nd place in Dist Level Art Contest in the theme of Environmental Day organised by Vijayavani Newspaper, Consolation Prize in Udayavani Chinnara Banna Drawing competition, 3rd place in Pencil Sketch at Pre-Unique, 1st place in drawing competition organised by French Dept. of St Aloysius P.U. College. 1st place in drawing competition at cluster level “Prathibha Karanji”. Qualified for the State Level Kalashree selection camp organised by Bala Bavana Society, Bangalore.

Dhrithi T.S. selected for the state level drawing competition organised by central Power Research Institute, New Delhi.  Sushmitha bagged 1st place in Rangoli competition at Prathibha Karanji Taluk level and selected for District level. Sushmitha and Dhrithi T.S.  bagged 1st place in Rangoli competition at ‘Sparkle’ organized by Padua P.U. College.   

Pankaj  Kumar Chauhan got 1st place in clay modeling competition organised by Sharadi Pratishtana. Andrea Viola DSouza got 2nd place in drawing competition organised by St Aloysius P.U. College. Sholin Sequeira and M. S. Shizna got 1st in flower making competition held at Agnathon. Shizna and  Vinoda bagged 2nd place in flower making competition held at Sharada Mahotsava.

Hana Fathima, Jesvita DSozua and Nafeesa Rifa bagged 1st place in best out of waste at Maps College. Lenora Christle DSouza bagged 1st place in pot painting competition held at footprints,  2nd  place in pencil sketch competition held at Pre-unique.  Lenora and  Navami bagged 3rd place in face painting at footprints.

Hrithwik Naveen bagged 2nd runner up in drawing competition at Shakthi School.  He is the winner of Drawing competition organized by Dakshina Kannada District on account of Constitution Day.   

Mr John I. Chandran trains, guides and motivates young artists, to explore their hidden artistic and creative ability.

‘ALOYSIAN’ L.T.S. (Leadership Training Service)

An awareness programme was conducted for the students on Drug Addiction.  Forensic  Expert Dr Prof. Mahabalesh Shetty shared his experiences and created awareness among the students. LTS members participated in the SAPMUN- 2025, organized by St Aloysius P.U. College. A session on leadership skills was organized in the school for the LTS members to develop their skills.  Dr Severine Pinto, Associate Professor, Dept of English- St Aloysius Deemed to be University motivated the students about leadership. Throughout the year Cabinet members take the responsibility to maintain discipline and cleanliness of the school.  An outlook on leadership is brought about by Mrs Felcy Lobo and Mrs Sunitha Pais.

PANDURANGA PAI’ Eco Club

The club has celebrated “Environment Day” in the school. Fruit plants were distributed to students and plantation drive was organised near Milagres Road, where students actively participated in planting saplings.

The ‘Eco Week’ was celebrated with active participation of the members, fostering environmental awareness and strengthening their bond with nature. During the week, students went on an Eco Exploration visit to Alvana, the “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” plantation drive.  A workshop on Herbarium preparation and synthetic seed, an awareness session on Biodiversity and Water Resource Management,  Aquascaping workshop, turning Waste into Wonders competition was successfully conducted.  Additionally, a cleanliness drive was carried out in the school campus to promote hygiene and environmental care.

Club members are guided by Mrs Edna Mascarenhas.

‘IGNATIAN’ Gavel Club

The Club members actively contribute to various events throughout the academic year by hosting the major School programs. An elocution competition and an English handwriting competition were organised for the students. Sherlyn Ann Mascarenhas secured the 2nd place in an elocution competition organised by Sri Bharati College, 1st  place in essay writing held at Pilikula as part of ‘the International tiger’s day’ celebration. The club is guided by Mrs Jovita Dsouza

 ‘GONZAGA’ Consumer Club

Collage competition “Jago grahak Jago”  was conducted and an awareness programme related to food adulteration and consumer rights was conducted by Mrs Srividya B. Asst. Professor Besant Evening College. The students were encouraged to develop their skills related to the adulteration.  Food adulteration experiment was done during meetings.   Mrs Chris  Evert Dsouza,  co-ordinates the club.

 ‘ETHEL PRABHU’ Quiz Club

The club is functioning under the guidance of Mrs Edna Mascarenhas and Mrs Reshma Mohan. The club conducted various quizzes on topics like general knowledge, science and technology, promoting curiosity and teamwork.

Lagan J.S and Ananya Prashant Kumar  won 3rd place in biology puzzle and Lenver Saldanha and Prithvish Paleppady won 3rd place in Map Hunt in  Pre Unique. Lagan J.S and Prince Alish won 1st place in wordy Wizard at Agnathon.

Lagan J.S and Arvin Neil Dsouza won 1st  place in Sparkle as well as 2nd place in cluster level “Prathibha Karanji”. Lagan J.S, Prithvish Paleppady also won 1st place and  Arvin Neil Dsouza and Videl Leron Lobo bagged  the 3rd place in General knowledge quiz competition organized by Raga Taranga.

 ‘STEVE JOBS’  I.T Club

Intra class Web Designing & Typo Master competitions were orgnised. Club  Members demonstrated topics like hardware,  Coding, video editing and animation.   Snitik P. Churya bagged 2nd place in “Type Veda” competition organized by MAPS P.U. College. Nishan Suvarna was the finalist in IT Champion and Koushik Bhat bagged 1st place in the web designing organised by Canara P.U. College.

Creative minds of Mrs Sunitha Pais and Mrs Linet Mathias, the animators have picturized today’s Annual Report with videos and clippings and the gifted students Arman Shaik, Snitik P. Churya, Shawn Fernandes and  Anvay Ramprasad assisted them.

‘MELODY’ Choir CLUB

Club organized ‘Battle of Melodies’, a singing competition to showcase the musical talent of students.  ‘Melody Fiesta’ – Musical Day was joyfully celebrated with the presence of the Chief Guest Rev. Fr Dr Praveen Martis SJ, Vice Chancellor of St. Aloysius Deemed to be University. Other notable guests included Mr. Mime Ramdas, singer and film actor and Mr. Jackson Noronha, musician and alumnus of St. Aloysius.  The Club members are also showcasing their talents in today’s Annual Day Program through an ‘Orchestra’.

Achievements:-

Ayush Prem :

1st place in Ghazal at Prathibha Karanji Taluk level and selected for District level, 1st  place in Hindustani Classical Singing Competition conducted by Ragataranga, 1st place  in  Kanakadasa keerthane singing organised  by Kanaka Adhyayana Peetha, Mangalore University.  1st  place in Gazal singing competition at cluster level “Prathibha Karanji”.   In Kala Prathibhostava 1st place in Hindustani classical Music and has been selected for Division level to be held in Mysore, 2nd  place in “Swaranjali” at Pre Unique.    Ayush Prem was felicitated by “Ragataranga” Mangalore for the achievement in music.  

Club members participated in various competition and brought pride and joy to the entire school.

1st Place in Patriotic Group Singing at Shree Bharathi PU College 1st  Place in Patriotic Group Singing at “Sparkle” , 1st place in group singing at Boscoss P.U. College,  1st  Place in folk song and 2nd place in group singing at “Footprints”. 2nd place in ‘FRENCH  FIERTÉ’ at  St Aloysius PU College.  Best Performance in Battle of Beats organized by  Sharada Vidyanikethana, Thalapady  The Club functions under the guidance of  Mrs Renny Vas and Br Praveen DSouza.

 ‘ST ALOYSIUS’ College Band

The Band has showcased its musical brilliance  at various school functions and events. It’s performance for Annual Day and Sports day’s Mass PT and Mass drill was captivating.  The Band Master, Dr  Prem J. Moras, provides expert musical direction, and the band is coordinated by Mr. Praveen D. Monteiro.

 ‘BEATS N STEPS’ Dance Club

The members of the Club continue to bring energy and creativity to various school events  like the Gonzaga Feast, Loyola Feast, and Teachers’ Day. The club members participated in various inter-school competitions and won many prizes. 1st place in group Folk Dance at Ragataranga,  1st  place in Freestyle Dance organised by Boscoss College. The boys’ team won 3rd  place in ‘Sparkle’.  Ms Dhriti T.S. secured 1st  place in Classical Dance organised by Sri Bharathi School,  3rd  place at  Boscoss College and 3rd place in Bharatanatym at cluster level “Prathibha Karanji”.  The club is coordinated by Mrs Shalma Saldanha and Mrs Kris Evert DSouza.

 ‘ANGELO MAFFAI’ Konkani Club

The club helps the students to develop their language and cultural richness.  Club members represented the school in ‘Children’s Conference’, held at Kalangan.  Elvin Rishab DSouza  took part in Konkani Poetry reality show organized by Kavita Trust and was selected for the semi-final round. The club organized a program of watching a Konkani film “My dear Father” to the sudents and teachers. This Club is co-ordinated by Mrs Felcy Lobo.

‘KAIRANNA’ Health Club

Health training sessions are held for the members. Mr Noel Menezes  and Ms Jashmitha D. R. co-ordinates the club.

Electrol Literacy Club (ELC)

The aim of this club is to focus on educating the students about Voter Rights & Electoral process.  The School cabinet leaders are its members.  It is coordinated by Mrs. Bharathi N. K.  The members participated in the various competitions organised by the Education Department.  In the Quiz Lenver Saldanha and  Prathvish Paleppady  bagged the 2nd  place and Lagan J.S. and  Arvin Neil DSouza bagged 3rd place and qualified for the District level.        

Guitar & Keyboard

The music teacher Mr Vijay Moras guides our students in the learning of instruments like Guitar & Keyboard along with musical notations.

Winners in other Inter school competitions:

  • Mohammed Hashir bagged 2nd place in Arabic Patana and Prinston Sam Rodrigues bagged 2nd  place in Hindi Bhashana at  Cluster level Prathibha Karanji.
  • In fancy dress competition, Joshua Mascarenhas bagged 1st place at Shri Bharathi Vidyalaya and 2nd place at ‘Sparkle’.   He also bagged 4th place in  Kalashree State Award organised by Balabavana Society, Bangalore
  • Initha Bennis was titled as ‘Best Elegant’ and Mohammed Wahab was titled as ‘Best Walk’ at ‘French Fierte’ organised by St Aloysius P.U. College.
  • Olga Pinto bagged 3rd place in Pick & Speak organised by Central Library and bagged 2nd place in Inter school Shooting competition orgnaised by Ladyhill School .
  • Avni R bagged 1st place in Ms Shreshta at Maps P.U. College
  • Lalitha bagged 1st place in Memory Competition at Canara Footprints

Our students excelled in various co-curricular activities and won the Overall Championship at ‘Sparkle’ Inter school competition organized by Padua P.U. College and  in  “Saavishkar” organized by Sri Bharathi P U College. First runner up at “Footprints” organized by Canara P.U. College, “French FIERTÉ” organized by  St Aloysius PU College and “Sanskriti 2025” organized by the Maps College.

UNIQUE PROGRAMMES

  • All club inauguration was held for marking a vibrant beginning to the academic year’s Co-curricular activities.
  • The Investiture ceremony forming a new ‘student cabinet’ was carried out.
  • To recognize the hardwork and dedication of our retired staff Mr Gerald Fernandes, a farewell programme was organized by the students and staff.
  • Orientation programme for class 8, 9 and 10 was conducted by Fr Lestan Lobo S.J., Br Rudolf DSouza S.J. and Br. Praveen DSouza,
  • Tulu Drama “JAGRATE” was organized to spread the message of living in harmony among the students.
  • An intra-school ‘Prathibha Kalotsava’ was held to our students to exhibit their talents in various aspects like – Fancy Dress, Bhartanatyam, Gazal, Folk song, Mimicry, Bhavadgeethe, Arabic Patana and Elocution.
  • Annual General Body of the PTA was held and Top scorers of the SSLC examination 2024-25 were honoured. 
  • The Teachers’ Day was celebrated by the students and the PTA. They honoured and thanked the Teachers’ for their contributions and selfless service to the school.
  • Our school organized Departmental District level Basketball tournament.
  • On account of Deepavali festival, Gududeepa Competition and cultural programme was held in collaboration with PTA.
  • On the occasion of children’s day the staff decided to enthrall the children with a stage programme. Apart from dance, song and music, a cricket match was organized for students and staff members.
  • Mr Eshwar P. Shetty, Alumnus, Entrepreneur and Marketing Professional, was the Chief Guest on the Sports Day for the inaugural ceremony and Ms Nishel Delphina DSouza, State Level Sports Medalist was the Chief Guest at the closing ceremony. The students exhibited their skills in athletics, aerobic, Mass Drill and March Past.
  • To relax and enjoy healthy companionship a 3 days tour was organized for class 10th students to Kochi and Munnar.
  • On 20th December we are going to conduct ‘Jingle Bells’ Christmas Drawing and Carol Singing Competition.

P.T.A.

Parents, work together as equals towards a common objective of enhancing not only the child’s learning, development and well-being but also are the pillars and strength of the school. Under the leadership of Mrs Reshma Bhat, the Vice president and the executive members, Teacher’s Day was celebrated with games, entertainment and a sumptuous dinner. Their presence and constant support on Sports day and School day is endearing and steadfast.

My gratitude goes out to all those who are present here today to share our joy and to be a part of the ongoing process of education. We are committed towards moulding our students as “people for others” who will grow into young men and women. We look up to our patron, St. Aloysius, who stands tall as a supreme example of selfless service and we thank Almighty God for all His gifts, graces and blessings.
