St. Aloysius High School celebrated World Environment Day on 5th June 2026 with great enthusiasm and awareness. The programme began with a prayer service, invoking God’s blessings on all efforts towards protecting nature and the environment. The dignitaries on the dais were Rev. Fr Johnson Pinto SJ, Headmaster, Mr Lancy D’Souza, Assistant Headmaster and Mr. Galvin Thomas Rodrigues, Assistant Professor, Department of Zoology, St. Aloysius Deemed to be University, who was the resource person for the day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The programme commenced with the symbolic planting of saplings by the dignitaries, highlighting the importance of preserving and nurturing nature. Olga Pinto of Class 10E and Kreshaun of class 9 spoke eloquently on the significance of World Environment Day and the need to safeguard our planet for future generations. The celebration was further enriched by a graceful dance performance by the talented students of the school. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Mr. Galvin Thomas Rodrigues interacted with the students on the theme, “Inspired by Nature, for Climate, for Our Future.”<\/strong> Through inspiring environmental stories and a video presentation, he emphasized the urgent need for climate action and environmental conservation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Addressing the gathering, Rev. Fr. Johnson Pinto SJ reminded the students that nature is a precious gift and that it is our responsibility to protect and preserve it rather than destroy it. The programme was compered by Sherlyn Mascarenhas. The welcome address was delivered by Neona D’Souza, while the vote of thanks was proposed by Sanvi Lobo.
