Annual Day Celebrations of St. Aloysius High School, Kodialbail, Mangalore

The 140th Annual Day Celebrations of St. Aloysius High School, Kodialbail, Mangalore, were held on the School grounds on December 18, 2019. The beautiful evening began with the rendition of songs in different languages by the students. Eight students conducted the programme as Masters of Ceremonies. The School Band and the NCC Cadets ushered in the dignitaries. The Melody Club led the gathering of parents, guests, and students into prayer. Mr. Gopal Krishna S., the Asst. Headmaster, welcomed the gathering.

Mr. Amith Prabhu, an Alumnus of the School, and the Founding Dean,
School of Communications and Reputation, Gurugram, NCR Delhi graced the
occasion as the Chief Guest of the day. Rev. Fr. Dionysius Vaz, SJ, Rector, St.
Aloysius Insititutions, presided over the function. The dignitaries including
Rev. Fr. Gerald Furtado, SJ, the Headmaster, Mrs. Rekha Fernandes, the Vice
President of the school PTA, felicitated the student achievers in academics,
co-curricular activities, and sports and athletics with certificates and
mementos.

The Chief Guest exhorted the students to adhere to the motto of the
School – “Lucet et ardet” meaning shine to enkindle. He also called upon the
students to stay humble, take pride in themselves, be passionate, live and let
live, be optimistic, and make a difference in others’ lives. Fr. Vaz, laid
emphasis on the aim of Jesuit education: imagination, creativity and critical
analysis. He also stressed on the culture of diversity encouraging students /
people of all sections of society.

The entertainment / cultural programme comprising of song, folk dance,
drama, mini-skit, thematic dance, patriotic dance, and group dance was
presented by the students in different languages under the guidance of various
teachers.

Master Zain Mohammed, the SPL, proposed the Vote of Thanks. The
celebration ended with the students dancing to the tunes of the DJ and
expressing their joy.
